Welcome, Wee Girly!

It's raining babies! A loving welcome to tiny Freya Kate, the lovliest little bundle in all of Ireland! It looks like Rock Mama gets to be Super Auntie in '08, as I happily await three more very special wee ones. My knitting fingers are getting itchy.

My Left Foot

I have so many tales and photos to share with you, much catch up on: New Years Eve and delicious things. But, for now, what is happening is my newly reconstructed left foot. Behold the medical miracle that is my small limb! In my painkiller haze I travel short journeys around home on my gimpy sticks, which has earned me the nickname Clip-clop (as in either Papa M or Rosebud shouting, "Come here, Clip-clop! I have a sugar cube for you!" when they hear the sound of me pegging down the hall). Surgery is a painful and fascinating thing. The adventure continues. As of now, I shall spare you all the gruesome sight of the tender foot, which nearly caused me to faint upon removal of bandages. Happy weekend!

Colors & Light

I decided to seek a peaceful holiday celebration this year with family, mostly the two very important members of mine. There was quiet snowfall, the annual Zar holiday mix, wine, those coconutty things my mom makes, a happy and constant little voice, a few wrapped gifts, and a full heart. There were also movies (stay tuned for reviews) and baking. Now I contemplate many thoughts of leaving behind a very, very vivid year and think about what the new one will bring.

Joy to you all, my friends, in whatever form you need it. And wish me luck on the new soup recipe.
